MESSAGE: – Open Heavens 7 May 2026 Thursday Daily Devotional
As l continue teaching about the secrets to longevity, I want to discuss the importance of refueling while walking on the path that God has set before you. To enjoy longevity, especially in the kingdom of God, you must refuel and recharge your spiritual batteries regularly.
God designed man in such a way that he would constantly need refueling. This is why He made sure that every day would be followed by a night so that after working very hard during the day, you can sleep at night and refuel your energy. Likewise, after breakfast in the morning, it is normal to feel hungry after a few hours, especially if you have expended lots of energy. God designed you to eat at varying intervals so you can refuel your energy. For guns to remain effective, they must be reloaded after they have been fired. Likewise, if a believer wants to remain on the path that God has ordained for him or her, the believer must always recharge his or her spiritual batteries. For example, a Christian cannot function effectively based on the Scriptures he or she studied last year or the fasting and prayers embarked upon three years ago. Such a Christian will be weak and become easy prey for the devil; hence, there must be constant refueling to remain spiritually fit.
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Matthew 5:6
God created hunger to remind us that we are running low on fuel, so we can eat to restore our energy. Just as He created physical hunger as a signal to eat and replenish energy, He also created spiritual hunger and thirst as a sign that you must recharge. When you feel hungry for God’s word, excited when it is time for Bible Study, or are always looking forward to praying, you are spiritually healthy.
However, if you don’t attend to that hunger, you may not feel it anymore after a while. If a believer does not feel hungry for spiritual things anymore, it means that he or she is already empty and is on the verge of dying spiritually.
Beloved, nobody lasts long in God’s kingdom without consistent spiritual hunger and refueling. If you ever get to a point where you don’t feel hungry for God’s word, cry to God to renew your spiritual hunger. May you always hunger and thirst after righteousness so you will be empowered to fulfil God’s purpose for your life, in Jesus’ name.

Open Heavens 7 May 2026 Thursday Hymn
Hymn 8: I Need Thee Every Hour
1 I need Thee ev’ry hour,
Most gracious Lord;
No tender voice like Thine
Can peace afford.
Refrain:
I need Thee, oh, I need Thee;
Ev’ry hour I need Thee;
Oh, bless me now, my Savior,
I come to Thee.
2 I need Thee ev’ry hour,
Stay Thou nearby;
Temptations lose their pow’r
When Thou art nigh.
3 I need Thee ev’ry hour,
In joy or pain;
Come quickly and abide,
Or life is vain.
4 I need Thee ev’ry hour,
Teach me Thy will;
And Thy rich promises
In me fulfill.
Prayer Points for Open Heavens 7 May 2026 – Secrets To Longevity III
1. Father, I thank You for the wisdom of Your word that teaches me when to flee. Thank You for the example of Joseph who fled from sexual sin rather than compromise, in Jesus’ name.
2. Lord, I ask for mercy for every time I have entertained lust, lingered near temptation, or failed to flee from the appearance of evil, in Jesus’ name.
3. Father, give me the grace to flee from youthful lusts and every form of sexual sin. Let me not be caught by seduction or trapped by the enemy through my desires, in Jesus’ name.
4. Lord, help me to run faster toward the finish line of my race. As I grow older in faith, let me flee even more urgently from every appearance of evil, not becoming complacent or overconfident, in Jesus’ name.
5. Father, deliver me from every friendship, association, or counsel that leads me toward sin. Let me not walk in the counsel of the ungodly, stand in the way of sinners, or sit in the seat of the scornful, in Jesus’ name.
6. Lord, I break every unequal yoke with unbelievers. Separate me from any relationship that pulls me away from righteousness, and surround me with those who call on You with a pure heart, in Jesus’ name.
7. Father, I receive the spirit of discernment to recognize the appearance of evil even before it fully manifests. Give me the wisdom to flee immediately without hesitation or debate, in Jesus’ name.
8. Lord, I pray for every believer struggling with lust, pornography, or sexual temptation. Let them find the strength to flee and the grace to keep their garments pure, in Jesus’ name.
9. Father, help me to abstain from every form of evil—not just the obvious sins, but also subtle ones like gossip, greed, pride, and compromise. Let my life be blameless before You, in Jesus’ name.
10. My personal prayer point: (Mention specific temptations or areas where you need to flee rather than fight, and ask God for the discipline to run).
11. Thank You, Father, for the promise that when I resist the devil, he will flee; and when I flee from sin, You will uphold me. I will run the race and finish strong, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
