Open Heavens 28 May 2026 Thursday – He Will Bring Calm

MEMORISE: Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10

READ: 1 Kings 17:8-15 Open Heavens 28 May 2026

8 And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,

9 Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.

10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.

11 And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.

12 And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.

13 And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.

14 For thus saith the LORD God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the LORD sendeth rain upon the earth.

15 And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.

16 And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah.

MESSAGE: – Open Heavens 28 May 2026 Thursday Daily Devotional

In 2022, I travelled to the UK at a time when the temperature there was over 40 degrees Celsius. When I arrived there, I told my Daddy, “I have travelled to countries in winter, and you brought summer there because I asked You to. This time, it is summer, and the heat is excessive. Can you please cool the temperature down for me?” After I prayed, the temperature where I was dropped from 40 to 28 degrees before the next morning, and throughout my stay there, Daddy kept things cool. If you are experiencing unbearable heat in any area of your life, I pray that my Daddy will make things cool for you, in Jesus’ name.

In 2 Kings 6:24-33, things were very heated in Samaria because an enemy king had besieged the land. Food and commodities were really expensive, and the inhabitants of the land could not leave to seek help because the enemy had surrounded them. The economy got so bad that mothers began to eat their children. When the situation got really unbearable, God released His word through Elisha to turn things around. He said that by the next day, Samaria’s heated economic situation would become cool and food would become cheap. By the next day, food items that were scarce and expensive became cheap and readily available, and the inhabitants of the nation had more than enough (2 Kings 7:16-1 7).

The widow of Zarephath was another person who found herself in a heated situation. First of all, her husband died, and then there was a famine in the land, which made life unbearable for her and her son. Things got so bad that she had only one meal left, which she planned to eat with her son and await death. However, my Daddy, who hears the cry of the helpless and knows how to calm heated situations, sent Elijah to her. At the word of the prophet, her last meal became the first of many miraculous meals throughout the famine, as we see in today’s Bible reading.

Beloved, do not be anxious or worried if you find yourself in any difficult situation. The same God who makes a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert (Isaiah 43:19) will bring you out of heated situations and establish calm in your life. I pray that God will turn things around for your good in any area of your life where you might have found yourself in a tight corner, in Jesus’ name.

PRAYER POINT – Open Heavens 28 May 2026

Father, please send help to me and turn around every heated situation in my life for good, in Jesus’ name.

Open Heavens 28 May 2026 Thursday Hymn

HYMN 29: WHEN PEACE LIKE A RIVER ATTENDETH

1 When peace like a river attended my way

When sorrows like sea billows roll

Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say

It is well, it is well, with my soul

Refrain:

It is well (it is well)

With my soul (with my soul)

It is well, it is well with my soul

2 My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought

My sin, not in part but the whole

Is nailed to the cross and I bear it no more

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, oh, my soul

3 And Lord haste the day when my faith shall be sight

The clouds be rolled back as a scroll

The trumpet shall sound and the Lord shall descend

Even so, it is well with my soul

Prayer Points for Open Heavens 28 May 2026 – HE WILL BRING CALM

1. Father, I thank You for Your promise that I should not fear because You are with me. Thank You for being my God, my strength, my help, and the One who upholds me with Your righteous right hand, in Jesus’ name.

2. Lord, I ask for mercy for every time I have allowed anxiety, fear, and worry to overwhelm me in the midst of heated situations, instead of trusting in Your power to bring calm, in Jesus’ name.

3. Father, just as You cooled the temperature for the author in the UK from 40 to 28 degrees, I pray that You will cool every heated situation in my life—financial, marital, health, and career—and bring peace and relief, in Jesus’ name.

4. Lord, like the widow of Zarephath who had only one meal left and was about to die, I bring before You every situation that seems hopeless and desperate. Let Your word of provision and multiplication turn my last meal into a never-ending supply, in Jesus’ name.

5. Father, I pray for everyone who is in a tight corner, besieged by enemies, or facing economic hardship like Samaria. Send Your word through Your servants to turn the situation around, and let abundance replace scarcity overnight, in Jesus’ name.

6. Lord, I receive the grace to obey Your instructions even when they seem unreasonable or costly. Like the widow, let my act of faith open the door for supernatural provision and calm, in Jesus’ name.

7. Father, You make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Make a way for me in every difficult situation where I see no way out. Let calm be established in every storm-tossed area of my life, in Jesus’ name.

8. Lord, I pray for those who have lost hope because of prolonged suffering—widows, orphans, the unemployed, and the sick. Send an Elijah to them with a word of hope and a miracle of provision, in Jesus’ name.

9. Father, let every siege of the enemy over my life be broken. Let every tight corner become an open door, and let me testify of Your goodness as You bring me out of heated situations into calm and victory, in Jesus’ name.

10. My personal prayer point: (Mention specific heated situations—health crises, financial pressure, family conflict, or spiritual attacks—and ask God to bring calm and turn them around for good).

11. Thank You, Father, for hearing my cry. I believe You are bringing calm to every storm in my life, and I will sing of Your faithfulness, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
