Open Heavens 22 January 2026 Thursday – Subdue

MESSAGE: – Open Heavens 22 January 2026 Thursday Daily Devotional
To subdue means to overcome and then exercise dominion. In Genesis 39:1-6, Joseph was brought into Potiphar’s house as a slave. However, God’s blessing made a way for him, and Potiphar put him in charge of everything in his house. When Joseph ended up in prison after his master’s wife lied against him, he was asked to be in charge of the prison’s affairs (Genesis 39:20- 23). Eventually, Joseph ended up being a mighty ruler in Egypt, second only to Pharaoh.
And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph’s hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine Iinen, and put a gold chain about his neck; And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt. And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I am Pharaoh, and without thee shall no man lift up his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt. Genesis 41:42-44
According to Philippians 2:9-11, you can control situations and circumstances because of the name of Jesus Christ.
Likewise, Mark 16:17-1 8 says: And these signs shall follow them that believe: In my name shall they cast out devils; they shalI speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
As a child of God, you have access to the name of Jesus Christ, and this means that you should operate in dominion – you should be unstoppable. In Acts 5:17-29, when Peter and his colleagues were imprisoned, the angel of the Lord came at night and set them free. When Peter was captured and put in prison again in Acts 12:1-17, God moved again and set him free.
Beloved, your story will only get better than it is currently so long as Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior. Proverbs 4:18 says that the path of the just is as a shining light that shines more and more unto the perfect day. This means that, no matter what the enemy has done, your life is to be better today than it was yesterday. Believe in the name of Jesus wholeheartedly and use His name to subdue any negative situation that arises around you. This way, you will indeed walk in dominion, and nothing will be able to stop you.

Prayer Points for Open Heavens 22 January 2026 – SUBDUE
1. Father, I thank You for the gift of life and for the privilege of relationship with You; thank You for giving me the Name that is above every other name and the power to subdue, in Jesus’ name.
2. Father, I ask for Your mercy in every area where I have allowed circumstances to rule over me; forgive me for not exercising the dominion You have already given me through Your Son, in Jesus’ name.
3. Lord, deliver me from every spirit of the “prison” and “slavery”; just as You elevated Joseph and released Peter, break every chain of limitation holding my destiny back, in Jesus’ name.
4. Father, whenever I am faced with sickness, serpents, or deadly situations, grant me the spiritual strength to use the name of Jesus to subdue them and walk in victory, in Jesus’ name.
5. Oh Lord, give me the wisdom to manage the territories You have placed under my care; help me to be faithful like Joseph so that I may be entrusted with greater dominion, in Jesus’ name.
6. Father, cure me of spiritual shortsightedness and an inferiority complex; help me to see that as Your child, I am meant to be the head and not the tail, in Jesus’ name.
7. Lord, give me a selfless heart that uses my position of dominion to bless others; teach me to seek the expansion of Your Kingdom through the authority I carry, in Jesus’ name.
8. Father, I receive the grace for my path to shine more and more; I refuse to stagnate or go backward, for my story must get better every single day, in Jesus’ name.
9. Holy Spirit, empower me to be unstoppable by the gates of hell; keep me holy, disciplined, and focused on using the weapon of Your Name to subdue every opposition, in Jesus’ name.
10. My personal prayer point: (Mention the specific negative situations, habits, or oppositions in your life right now that you are commanding to bow to the name of Jesus).
11. Thank You, Father, for I believe You have heard me, and by Your grace, I am walking in dominion and nothing shall be able to stop me, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen!
