1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,
2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
3 When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.
4 And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.
5 And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet,
6 And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.
7 Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared.
8 And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also.
9 When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.
10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.
11 And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.
12 And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.

MESSAGE: – Open Heavens 25 December 2025 Thursday Daily Devotional
There are about one hundred billion stars in the galaxy, and God calls them all by their names (Psalm 147:4). The Bible even mentions Orion, a constellation of stars (Amos 5:8 ), and wormwood (Revelation 8:11). Among all the stars, God gave a special assignment to one of them. We don’t know the star’s name. but God surely knows it, and He must have called that star by its name and commissioned it to lead the wise men to Jesus.
In today’s Bible reading, the wise men, who were probably astrologers, talked about a star that they saw in the sky and how they knew that it belonged to a king. They followed the star all the way from their country to Israel, and as long as they followed it, it led them on the right track. If they had stopped following the star, they would have surely lost their way and begun to wander in darkness and confusion.
People who celebrate Christmas without having Jesus can be said to be wandering in the dark. They can eat, drink, and be merry, but they will remain in darkness. You do not have to continue dwelling in darkness if you are like this. Jesus has come as the light of the world (John 8:12) to illuminate every place where there is darkness in your life.
As the world celebrates his birth today, this is the perfect time to give your life to Him. As soon as the wise men left Jerusalem and resumed their search for the King, the star led them to where Jesus was (Matthew 2:9). That star fulfilled its mission of leading the wise men to the Bright and Morning Star, Jesus. Every believer is like that star, called and commissioned to lead others to Jesus. As a believer, even as you celebrate the birth of Jesus today, do not forget that you are on a mission to lead others to Him. That star is still being spoken of today because it fulfilled its mission to lead the wise men to Jesus. As long as you keep leading and influencing others to follow Jesus, you will remain relevant in God’s agenda. Our Lord Jesus is the Bright and Morning Star, and your life should lead others to Him.
Beloved, ifyou are yet to give your life to Jesus, do so today. He is waiting for you to come to Him because He wants to set you free from the tyranny of darkness and confusion.

Prayer Points For Open Heavens 25 December 2025 – The Bright And Morning Star
1. Father, I thank You for the gift of life and for sending Jesus, the Bright and Morning Star, to lead me out of darkness; thank You for the privilege of relationship with the Light of the world, in Jesus’ name.
2. Father, I ask for Your mercy in every area where I have chosen to wander in the darkness of sin or confusion rather than following Your light; forgive me for prioritizing my own path over Your divine lead, in Jesus’ name.
3. Lord, deliver me from the spirit of Herod; let no pride, jealousy, or evil intention trouble my heart when You are doing a new thing in my life or the lives of others, in Jesus’ name.
4. Father, whenever I am faced with difficult options or lost in the “Jerusalem” of this world, grant me the spiritual strength to see and follow Your star until I find my place in You, in Jesus’ name.
5. Oh Lord, give me the wisdom to fulfil my mission; help me to be a star that leads many to Christ so that my life remains relevant in Your kingdom agenda, in Jesus’ name.
6. Father, cure me of spiritual shortsightedness; help me to look beyond the festivities of the season and focus on the eternal value of the Bright and Morning Star, in Jesus’ name.
7. Lord, give me a selfless heart that truly worships; teach me to bring my treasures and talents to Your feet for the expansion of Your Kingdom, in Jesus’ name.
8. Father, I receive the grace to depart from any “Herod” or evil association that seeks to destroy Your purpose in my life; lead me back to safety by another way, in Jesus’ name.
9. Holy Spirit, empower me to shine as a bright star in this generation; keep me holy, disciplined, and focused on leading others to the prize of the high calling, in Jesus’ name.
