Strength for the Stretch
Scripture:
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” — Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)
Let’s be real — life can stretch us in ways we never expected. Whether it’s the pressures of work, school, family, or even trying to stay focused on God when everything around us feels chaotic, the strain is real. But the good news? God’s strength doesn’t run out. It’s often in the stretch that we get stronger.
Isaiah 40:31 reminds us that waiting on God isn’t about sitting still and doing nothing. It’s about leaning in, trusting Him through the process, and drawing on His supernatural strength. Think of an eagle — it doesn’t fight the wind. It stretches its wings and rides it. That’s how God wants us to soar: not by striving harder, but by trusting deeper.
Maybe you’ve been running and you’re tired. Perhaps you’re walking through something tough and you’re just about ready to faint. This word is for you: renewal is coming. Keep pressing into His presence. Worship even when it’s hard. Pray even when words fail. And don’t underestimate the power of just being still and knowing He is God (Psalm 46:10).
This week, take a moment to pause and ask:
“Lord, where have I been trying to carry what You’ve already offered to handle?”
Let Him trade your weariness for His strength. You weren’t meant to burn out — you were made to soar.
Reflection Questions:
- What areas of your life are stretching you right now?
- How can you intentionally wait on God this week?
- Who can you encourage today with a reminder of God’s renewing strength?
God is faithful to fulfil every plan He has for you—just trust His timing and wait on Him.
