Open Heavens 17 January 2026 Saturday – The Blessings of The Lord

MESSAGE: – Open Heavens 17 January 2026 Saturday Daily Devotional
God loves His children so much (1 John 3:1), and He desires to give them blessings without any sorrow (Proverbs 10:22). However, as a responsible Father, He will not answer some prayers from His children when He knows they are not yet mature enough to handle what they are asking for.
For example, no responsible father will give his five-year-old child a car to drive, no matter how much the child asks or begs for it. Likewise, before God gives you some blessings, He will ensure that you have the capacity to handle them and that they will not harm you in any way or distract you from fulfilling His purpose for your life. He will not give His children things they ask for that would end up affecting their destinies negatively or destroying them.
3 John 2 says: Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.
God wants you to prosper and be in good health, but that is only as your soul prospers and you increasingly become spiritually mature. This is why you must ensure that your soul is prospering by feeding it with the word of God regularly. When you do this, you will begin to prosper and enjoy God’s blessings in every other area of your life.
Joshua 1:8 says: This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous and then thou shalt have good success.
Beloved, when you fill your heart with God’s word, it will set you up to enjoy His blessings and have good success. The Bible also says that if your delight is in the word of God and you meditate on it at all times, you will be so blessed that you will be like a tree planted by the riverbank that not only brings forth its fruit in due season but also never has withered leaves. The Bible further says that all you do will prosper (Psalm 1:2-3).
There are, however, different kinds of blessings you can receive from God. Over the next two days, I will be discussing two of them, which are conditional blessings and irreversible blessings. I pray that God’s blessings will overshadow you, even as you keep growing spiritually and your soul prospers in Him.

Prayer Points for Open Heavens 17 January 2026 – THE BLESSINGS OF THE LORD
1. Father, I thank You for the gift of life and for the privilege of relationship with You; thank You for always desiring to bless me without adding sorrow and for the grace to walk in Your favor, in Jesus’ name.
2. Father, I ask for Your mercy in every area where I have been disobedient to Your word; forgive me for prioritizing my own desires over the commandments that lead to my blessing, in Jesus’ name.
3. Lord, deliver me from the spirit of spiritual immaturity; grace me to grow in Your word so that I may have the capacity to handle the great prosperity You have for my destiny, in Jesus’ name.
4. Father, whenever I am faced with the temptation to seek success through ungodly means, grant me the spiritual strength to meditate on Your word day and night so that I may have good success, in Jesus’ name.
5. Oh Lord, give me the wisdom to prioritize the prosperity of my soul; help me to make choices today that will make me like a tree planted by the rivers of water, fruitful and flourishing for a fulfilled tomorrow, in Jesus’ name.
6. Father, cure me of spiritual shortsightedness; when You set before me blessings and curses, help me to clearly see the path of obedience that carries eternal value and Kingdom impact, in Jesus’ name.
7. Lord, give me a selfless heart that uses Your blessings to help others; teach me to seek the prosperity of Your people and the expansion of Your Kingdom through the abundance You give me, in Jesus’ name.
8. Father, I receive the grace to observe and do all that is written in Your word; I refuse to trade my spiritual growth for temporary material gain that could destroy my future, in Jesus’ name.
9. Holy Spirit, empower me to overcome every distraction that prevents me from feeding on the Word; keep me holy, disciplined, and focused on the prosperity that comes from Your presence, in Jesus’ name.
10. My personal prayer point: (Mention specific blessings you are trusting God for and ask for the spiritual maturity to manage them for His glory).
11. Thank You, Father, for I believe You have heard me, and by Your grace, Your blessings shall overtake me as my soul prospers in You, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen!
